Main Objective:   To increase capacity of public and private sector by designing, developing and implementing of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects under the Kyoto Protocol.  
Brief Description: South South North (SSN) came into being during the climate change negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The mission of the SSN project is to learn by designing, developing and implementing of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects under the Kyoto Protocol. through dialogues, workshops, seminars and networking. The SSN helps to create the framework for self-developed southern CDM projects, provides funds and professional services, and it will allow stakeholders to identify, design, and implement projects by themselves. The SSN project derives its name from the co-operation and relationship between Southern (developing) and Northern (developed) countries, reflecting a southern leadership focus and collaboration with the North. The project is being implemented in Bangladesh, Brazil, Indonesia and South Africa. The northern link for the SSN project is the Netherlands.
Output Three CDM projects were developed in Bangladesh and a CDM Toolkit was prepared and shared with the concerned authorities. The project has successfully raised awareness of the public and private sector on CDM related issues both nationally and internationally.
